We just got back from Nauvoo yesterday. It was a blast! Our extended family from Las Vegas came and visited. My grandparents, my aunt Myndi (and her family), and my uncle Bryan (and his family) came and visited us before we went to the Boyack family reunion in Quincy. Four cars, twenty-one people, eight days and 1,300 miles took us through Independence and Liberty, Missouri to Nauvoo and Quincy, Illinois. We say tons of church history sites and had a ton of fun. Some highlights include:
- Seeing all the cousins
- Going to the Omaha zoo
- Swimming in the pool
- Driving hour upon hour and getting lost a couple of times
- Seeing Independence, Missouri and Liberty Jail
- Visting Far West and Adam-ondi-amon
- Making jokes about the America Best Value Inn we stayed at during the reunion
- Going to Nauvoo and seeing everything
- Going to the Nauvoo Temple (at least Spencer, Brody, Steven, Me and all the grownups)
- Riding the oxen ride
- Seeing the Nauvoo Pagent and playing pioneer games
- Seeing Elder Neil A. Anderson at Carthage Jail (and getting to talk to him!)
- Hanging out with all the 2nd and 3rd cousins at the reunion
- Staying up really late :)
It was a great trip, but we're definately glad to be home and get some rest.
